impactMarket is a “web 3.0” blockchain protocol with the purpose of fighting poverty through the implementation of financial inclusion mechanisms, such as the distribution of unconditional basic income in vulnerable communities. The protocol is managed by a decentralised blockchain network that supports disadvantaged societies through donations. The network allows donors to continuously monitor the impact of their donations and grant beneficiaries access to financing without the intervention of intermediaries.
To date, impactMarket has distributed more than €1 million across 135 communities around the world, with donations from around 600 funders. These donations have served to lift more than 23 thousand people from 25 different countries out of extreme poverty.
The Abreu team involved in the IDO was led by professional partners Diogo Pereira Duarte and Hugo Teixeira.
