Adrian Newey £30m Aston Martin F1 Deal Done.
Adrian Newey has pledged his long-term commitment to the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. The renowned British designer is set to commence his duties at the team's headquarters in Silverstone on 1 March 2025, assuming the position of Managing Technical Partner.
Newey leaves Red Bull as chief technical officer (announced in May 2024) after a breakup with Red Bull boss Christian Horner.
It has been reported that Newey will be paid a basic of £20m a year, rising to £30m with bonuses at Aston Martin.
Newey was warded an OBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the 2012 New Years' Honours and is regarded by many to be one of the greatest engineers in Formula One history. Designer of no less than 12 World Constructors' Championship winning cars, including the 1992: Williams FW14B. 1993: Williams FW15C. 1994: Williams FW16. 1996: Williams FW18. 1997: Williams FW19. 1998: McLaren MP4/13. 2010and the Red Bull RB6.
