Reality star Hannah Smith is reported to have tried to punch and kick a police officer while also making threats to kill the officer and their sister.
Love Island USA star Hannah Smith was taken into custody on two felony charges after reportedly threatening and trying to punch a police officer. The incident took place on September 30, when the Charlotte native, known for her appearance in season 6 of the reality show, was removed from an Atlanta concert venue due to disorderly behavior.
After leaving the venue, a police officer tried to assist Smith into an Uber, but she allegedly attempted to strike the officer with a closed fist, although she did not make contact, as reported by the outlets. The officer then arrested the reality star, who reportedly tried to kick them while in handcuffs. While being taken to jail, Smith allegedly made multiple threats to kill both the officer and the officer’s sister.
Smith was taken into custody around 11:45 p.m. local time and was held on an $8,000 bond, as per jail records. She has now been released. The actress faces two felony charges: willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and making terroristic threats and acts.
The Love Island USA star is back on social media, posting photos and videos of herself on Instagram and TikTok, but she hasn't addressed her recent arrest and has kept the comments to a minimum.
Smith quickly won over fans as a standout contestant in season 6 of Love Island USA, but her time in the villa was short-lived. She shared with the outlet, “He kept his choice a secret from everyone. I was really surprised when he picked Liv; she was just as taken aback. I thought I might have a chance, but clearly, I was mistaken.”
Reflecting on her brief relationship with Washington, Smith expressed to Today, “I’m genuinely glad that Kendall and I got to meet and pair up because we had so much in common. We were like the fun couple in the villa.”
“We had a blast together, and I really got to know him well,” she added. “I can honestly say that Kendall is a wonderful guy. He’s truly sincere. Even though we didn’t end up together and our connection didn’t last as long as I had hoped, I have nothing negative to say about him.”
