Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, 25, was reportedly a pillar of support during his legal troubles with ex-fiancée Maya Henry, 23, before his tragic passing at 31 on October 16. A close source revealed that Kate stood by Liam’s side throughout the turmoil.
Just under two weeks before Liam Payne's death, Maya, 23, shared a TikTok video on October 6, claiming Liam had been persistently contacting her since their breakup. She expressed frustration over his numerous attempts to reach her through various phone numbers and even emails. Maya stated, “He doesn’t just reach out to me; he also bombards my mom’s phone. Does that seem normal to you?”
Additionally, Maya alleged that Liam was using One Direction fans to intimidate her. She claimed, “He takes advantage of One Direction fans because they will always stand by him and won’t speak out.”
On October 14, The Daily Mail reported that Maya Henry had initiated legal action against Liam Payne, requesting a cease and desist letter due to his continued outreach to her friends and family. Her legal team confirmed, “Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week after troubling new information came to light. She is represented by attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna.”
Liam and Maya's relationship began in 2019, leading to an engagement in August 2020. They briefly split in June 2021 but reconciled later that year. However, their engagement ended again in May 2022, following reports of Liam’s romantic involvement with Aliana Mawla.
In 2022, Liam began dating Kate, who was in Argentina with him shortly before his death. Just days later, he tragically fell from a hotel balcony. An autopsy revealed multiple substances in his system at the time of his passing.
Two days after his death, Kate honored Liam with an emotional tribute on Instagram. “Thank you for all the kind words and love that has been sent my way, I have been at a complete loss. I ask for grace and space to navigate this in private.” She ended the post with a heartfelt message to Liam: “Liam, my angel. You are everything. I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life.”
