Former NFL Star Adam 'Pacman' Jones Faces Assault and Resisting Arrest Charges After Texas Hotel Brawl.

Former NFL player Adam 'Pacman' Jones has been charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest following a brawl at a hotel in Texas. According to the Arlington Police Department, an off-duty officer intervened after a fight erupted between Jones and several others in the hotel bar during the early hours of November 16.

Jones, 41, was taken into custody early Saturday morning and faces charges of public intoxication, assault on a peace officer, and resisting and evading arrest, as per the booking records from the Arlington Police Department (APD). The APD reported that just after 1 a.m., security at the Live by Loews hotel alerted the off-duty officer about the ongoing fight.

However, by the time the officer reached the bar, the individuals involved, including Jones, had already been separated. Authorities noted that Jones continued to approach and shout at the other parties involved, leading the officer to intervene and warn him that any further attempts to engage in fighting would result in his arrest.

A scuffle erupted in the bar area once again involving Jones shortly thereafter, leading both the officer and hotel security to intervene once more. “While the officer and hotel security were attempting to separate those involved, Mr. Jones struck the officer on her arm,” stated the APD. “At that moment, [the officer] informed Mr. Jones that she was arresting him for Assault on a Peace Officer.”

The APD noted that the officer called for backup, and while waiting for assistance, she tried to put handcuffs on Jones. However, he managed to break free and began to walk away. Additional officers soon arrived to help take him into custody, according to the APD. Jones was booked into the Arlington City Jail around 3:30 a.m. on November 16, as per booking records. His bail was set at $319. The former football cornerback "strongly denies the allegations and looks forward to sharing his side of the story when the opportunity arises."

They also mentioned that Jones had been “in town” for the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight “like many others in Dallas that night,” and had been “having a good time, mingling with fans." They added that "Pacman was heading back to his hotel to relax for the evening” and “was not seeking any trouble."

This isn’t the first encounter the former cornerback has had with law enforcement. Last year, he was arrested at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport after creating a disturbance as an “unruly passenger” on a flight, according to multiple news reports at the time. He faced misdemeanor charges for alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening.
