Pete Davidson Not in Rehab, Maria Georgas Clears Up Rumors.
Pete Davidson, 31, is not in rehab, despite some reports suggesting otherwise, as shared by The Bachelor alum Maria Georgas, 30.
On her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, November 19, she wrote, “I just talked to his sister, and he’s been sober for months. I can’t believe this nonsense; it’s really disrespectful to his recovery and affects my mental health. He’s actually at home.” Maria posted a message clarifying that she and the 31-year-old comedian were not in a relationship, putting an end to the speculation.
"I've never dated Pete. It's a false rumor," she stated. "I'm friends with his sister. That's all there is to it."
Maria spoke out following the rumors that emerged on Monday, November 18, regarding her supposed relationship with Pete and his reported return to rehab.
“He recently entered rehab in Florida, arriving on a private jet.” The source added, “He’s in pretty bad shape this time around. He’s not in a good place.”
A source has indicated that Pete's recent check-in occurred shortly after he attended The Room premiere in Los Angeles alongside Machine Gun Kelly on October 24 and made a guest appearance on Saturday Night Live on November 2.
Additionally, the King of Staten Island star was seen at a restaurant in Kingsport, Tennessee, on November 5. Since then, however, he has not been spotted in public.
Pete checked into a wellness center for his mental health in late July, as confirmed by People. A source shared that prioritizing mental health has always been important to the former SNL star.
His choice to seek help followed a grueling schedule of over 200 live stand-up performances across the United States. During a show in Omaha, Nebraska, Pete abruptly left the stage.
An insider revealed, “Pete was performing in Omaha, but the audience got to him, and he walked off before completing his set. He faced relentless heckling from some attendees. While everyone is making a fuss about it, Pete seems unfazed.”
The comedian has been candid about his previous rehab experiences aimed at addressing his mental health and addiction issues. In September 2023, he humorously referred to his “post-rehab glow” during a performance alongside John Mulaney and Jon Stewart in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The actor entered rehab earlier this summer to address his borderline personality disorder and PTSD, as reported by several sources in June 2023.
A friend mentioned,“Pete regularly goes to rehab for ‘tune ups’ and to take a mental break, so that’s what’s happening,”
Pete said: “I have to get my meds re-adjusted all the time. I have in between bipolar and borderline and PTSD and s–t from my childhood, so I have to go and get re-adjusted every once in a while, I don’t think going to rehab is that big of a deal. I think it’s like a really strong, powerful thing.”
