RHOC’s Shannon Beador and Ex John Janssen Head for Jury Trial in $75,000 Financial Dispute

Shannon Beador and John Janssen Dispute Over Alleged Loans

Shannon Beador, star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, and her former partner, John Janssen, are pressing for a jury trial in their ongoing financial dispute over $75,000. The court documents reveal that Shannon, 60, and John, 62, each anticipate the trial to last several days, with Shannon estimating three to five days, while John believes it could be resolved within two. Both have previously indicated doubts about mediation as a way to settle their issues.

“We are fully prepared to win,” stated John’s attorney, Edson McClellan, emphasizing the unfortunate necessity of a trial if mediation fails. John’s lawsuit, initially reported, claims that Shannon owes him $75,000 from loans he allegedly provided during their relationship, which ended in 2022. John asserts he provided Shannon with two loans: a $40,000 sum for a facelift and an additional $35,000. Since their split, John claims he has not been repaid.

Shannon Beador Contests Debt Claim, Citing Shared Finances

Shannon, however, disputes John’s allegations, contending that these funds were not loans but rather shared expenses during their time together. According to her, the financial contributions were part of their joint arrangement, and she denies any obligation to repay John. Shannon’s lawyer further defended her position, stating, “[John] and [Shannon] shared finances during their four-year relationship, frequently supporting one another with financial contributions.” Shannon's legal team argues that John's claims of loans with “specific yet unspecified terms” lack substance and do not hold up in the context of their past relationship.

Shannon also asserts that some, if not all, of John’s claimed damages stem from his own “breaches, actions, omissions, and negligence,” which she believes should either bar or lessen his case against her. Additionally, she has requested that the court dismiss all claims and order John to cover her legal expenses, arguing his claims are “baseless, unfounded, and unreasonable.” She further requests that, should she win, she be awarded attorney’s fees under applicable law.

New Relationships and Legal Drama Surrounding Shannon’s Inner Circle

In the background of this legal showdown, John has moved on romantically, now engaged to Shannon’s RHOC co-star, Alexis Bellino, following an August proposal. Meanwhile, Shannon’s ex-husband, David Beador, is currently in the midst of a contentious divorce with his estranged wife, Lesley Beador. Lesley has recently secured a temporary restraining order against David, citing verbal abuse allegations, which David denies. “Lesley tends to label me as abusive whenever I disagree or assert my opinions,” David stated to the court, suggesting that Lesley was provoked by his decision to limit her credit card spending over the weekend.

The case between Shannon and John continues, with both sides bracing for a potentially public trial.
