California Man Arrested in Connection with Wisconsin School Shooting, Records Reveal.
A 20-year-old man from California has been apprehended on allegations of conspiring to orchestrate a mass shooting at a government facility in connection with the recent incident involving the Madison school shooter, as indicated by court documents. FBI agents took Alexander Paffendorf, a resident of Carlsbad, California, into custody, as detailed in an emergency gun violence restraining order examined by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Wisconsin authorities reported that Natalie "Samantha" Rupnow, aged 15, fatally shot a student and a teacher, injuring six others, at Abundant Life Christian School earlier this week. The apprehension was initially reported by CBS 8 on Wednesday. According to the restraining order, during an interview with the FBI, Paffendorf confessed to informing Rupnow of his intention to equip himself with explosives and a firearm, targeting a government building.

The order further states that FBI agents "observed the communications from Paffendorf to Rupnow." In a discussion with the Journal Sentinel on Wednesday evening, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes indicated that he lacked information regarding the arrest in California and directed inquiries to the FBI.
A representative from the FBI's San Diego field office declined to provide comments. A judge in San Diego sanctioned the restraining order on Tuesday, mandating Paffendorf to relinquish any firearms and ammunition while prohibiting him from acquiring additional weapons. Shortly after the judge's ruling, Paffendorf's neighbors in Carlsbad witnessed over a dozen police vehicles arriving at the apartment complex, as reported by CBS 8. "They had their weapons drawn all over the street," stated neighbor Alex Gallegos. "There were police cars. I would estimate about 15 officers were present." A court hearing for Paffendorf is set for January 3. Authorities noted that Rupnow, a freshman at Abundant Life Christian School, brought two handguns to the school on Monday, although it appears she utilized only one during the attack.
