Ex-Wife of Celebrity Doctor Hamid Mirshojae Charged in Murder Plot.
A top doctor's ex-wife has been arrested in connection with his murder outside his clinic.
On Thursday, Los Angeles police and FBI agents conducted a raid at Ahang Mirshojae's home before taking her into custody. The 53-year-old has been charged with murder related to the death of her ex-husband, Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, who was 61 when he was shot outside his clinic while heading to his car in August.
Authorities believe that Ahang, along with four other individuals, plotted to kill Dr. Mirshojae, who was known for treating high-profile celebrities and athletes. Currently, she is being held without bail. Footage from NBC affiliate KNBC showed law enforcement vehicles arriving at her residence.
This arrest comes just months after she shared a heartfelt tribute to her ex-husband online, firmly denying any involvement in his death. Just days prior to her arrest, police had taken two other suspects into custody: Evan Hardman, 41, in Texas, and Ashley Rose Sweeting, 40, in the San Fernando Valley. Hardman faces a murder charge with special circumstances, while Sweeting is accused of being an accessory to the crime.
Additionally, two more individuals, Sarallah Jawed, 26, and Shawn Randolph, 46, have also been arrested. The investigation remains ongoing and is described as complex. Dr. Mirshojae was shot in the head in the clinic's parking lot, and authorities believe the shooter may have scouted the area about an hour before the attack, which was characterized as an "ambush-style" incident. At the time of his death, his wife and their six-month-old child were in Turkey and quickly returned to the U.S. This tragic event occurred just months after Dr. Mirshojae was reportedly attacked by three men wielding baseball bats, leaving him in fear for his safety.
