Karen Huger 'Disappointed' by DUI Verdict, Will 'Respect' Jury Decision.
Karen Huger has been convicted on almost all charges following her DUI arrest in Maryland back in March. "
We are certainly disappointed with the jury's decision, but we respect it and are grateful for their time spent on our case," stated A. Scott Bolden, the attorney representing the Real Housewives of Potomac star, who is a partner at Reed Smith law firm, further mentioned, "We are maintaining Mrs. Huger’s right to appeal and will actively seek justice on her behalf.
We truly appreciate the support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family during this challenging time." Following the incident on March 19, Huger, 61, faced charges including DUI and DWI, negligent driving that endangered property and lives, and reckless driving showing willful disregard for safety.
Additional charges included failing to control her vehicle's speed to prevent a collision, driving over the reasonable speed limit, operating a vehicle with suspended registration, and not notifying authorities of her address change within the required timeframe. Her representative said she was found guilty on all counts except for reckless driving.
The reality star is set to receive her sentence on January 29. A spokesperson from the Montgomery County Police Department confirmed that Huger was involved in a single-vehicle accident in Potomac. Authorities reported that she crossed a median and hit several street signs but did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

Authorities reportedly informed TMZ, the first outlet to break the story, that Huger was allegedly driving "aggressively" and at a high speed prior to the accident. Although she was not arrested at the scene, she did receive multiple citations. On her initial court appearance on Tuesday, December 17, witnesses shared their observations.
One individual mentioned that Huger's vehicle seemed to have an odor of alcohol, according to Fox 5 DC. A volunteer EMT who arrived at the scene noted that Huger declined medical assistance and appeared to "sway" while attempting to enter the ambulance. Inside, the EMT reported that Huger allegedly told them to "f--- off" and "go f--- yourselves" multiple times, but moments later, she complimented a female firefighter, saying, "You're so beautiful," as per the EMT's account.

The jury was also shown bodycam footage during the hearing, where an officer could be heard telling Huger she was "hammered," a statement she dismissed as "bulls---" in the video. Huger addressed the incident publicly in a statement to TMZ on March 20. The reality star, who lost both parents within seven months in 2017, explained that she was grappling with grief on the night of the crash. "With the passing of my Beloved Mother, grief comes and goes in waves, and with Mother's Day approaching, it has felt more like a tsunami," she shared. "Last night, I met a friend for dinner, and we discussed some very emotionally charged topics. I was crying on my way home when I saw a car coming straight at me."
She went on to say, "I swerved to avoid a head-on crash, hit the divider, and then collided with a tree. I'm a bit banged up, but I'm so thankful to be alive! I did get some tickets, one of which wasn’t related to the accident, which makes sense, but what shocked me the most was that the car that nearly hit me just drove off!" Huger wrapped up by advising fans to "keep your emotions in check" before getting behind the wheel, giving credit to her mother, whom she affectionately referred to as her "Guardian Angel," and her seatbelt for saving her life. Huger's arrest plays a key role in season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, airing Sundays on Bravo at 8 p.m. ET.
