Authorities Expand Search for Missing Sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti Along River Dee.
Specialized resources have been deployed in the search, including a police helicopter, canine units, and the marine division. Emergency services are collaborating in this effort, which extends along the coast towards the South Harbour of the Port of Aberdeen and towards Duthie Park. Investigations also involve coordination with authorities in Hungary, the missing women's home country, to assist their family.
CCTV footage from the area and door-to-door inquiries are being conducted. Officers are also engaging with local businesses to gather further information. The River Dee remains the primary focus of the search, with no indication suggesting the women have moved from the area.
The sisters were last captured on CCTV at approximately 2:12 AM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, near Market Street, close to Victoria Bridge in Aberdeen. After crossing the bridge, they turned right onto a footpath alongside the River Dee, heading toward the Aberdeen Boat Club.
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce expressed, “Eliza and Henrietta's family are understandably extremely worried about them, and we are working tirelessly to find them. We are seriously concerned about them and have significant resources dedicated to the enquiry." He also appealed to the public for any information, urging local businesses and individuals with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward. The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 0735 from Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
