Chase Chrisley, former star of Growing Up Chrisley, was arrested on January 9, 2025, on charges of simple battery following an altercation at an Atlanta bar. The incident, which occurred on January 6, has sparked controversy, with Chrisley's attorneys claiming the situation was exaggerated. This arrest adds to the ongoing legal challenges faced by the Chrisley family, already dealing with multiple arrests and convictions.
The Incident at Twin Peaks Sports Bar
According to a police report, officers from the Atlanta Police Department responded to a call from the Twin Peaks Sports Bar on January 6, where the general manager identified Chase Chrisley as the individual responsible for an assault. The report claims that Chrisley had become "extremely intoxicated" and was exhibiting aggressive and disrespectful behavior. When the manager asked Chrisley to leave multiple times, the situation escalated, and Chrisley allegedly "slapped him in the face twice."
However, by the time officers arrived at the scene, Chrisley was no longer at the location. The incident was first reported by TMZ.
Chrisley’s Attorney’s Statement
In defense of their client, Chrisley’s attorneys, Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, and Zack Findling from The Findling Law Firm, stated, “This incident has been completely exaggerated.” They further claimed, "Chase Chrisley had done the right thing that evening by calling a driver to take him home. He did not assault anyone. Chase was trying to close out his tab and leave. We will be independently investigating the situation."
A Troubled Family History
This incident adds to the list of legal troubles the Chrisley family has faced. Chase’s older brother, Kyle Chrisley, has been arrested multiple times, with his most recent arrest occurring in September 2024 for aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Meanwhile, their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, are currently serving lengthy sentences for bank fraud and tax evasion. Julie is expected to be released in March 2028, while Todd’s release is scheduled for May 2032.
Chase’s Role in Supporting His Family
Despite these challenges, Chase has continued to support his family. Since Todd and Julie’s incarceration in January 2023, Chase’s sister, Savannah, has taken on the responsibility of caring for their younger siblings, Chloe, aged 11, and Grayson, aged 18. In an interview in October 2023, Savannah shared, “Me and Chase show up for them every single day, and I am the one of my siblings that's in charge of all of their legal stuff. I speak to attorneys every day. I make sure they have what they need while they are in prison, and I show up for them.”
Personal Struggles and Loss
Chase has faced personal challenges over the past year. In July 2023, he publicly announced his split from his former fiancée, Emily Medders, just months after their engagement. At the time, a representative for Chrisley issued a statement saying, “The couple has decided to go their separate ways. Chase has nothing but love and respect for Emmy and wishes her well. Unfortunately, things didn’t work, and they are both moving on with their lives.”
In addition to his breakup, Chase experienced the loss of his beloved French bulldog, Lilo, in December 2024. He shared a heartfelt tribute to Lilo on Instagram, saying, “Lilo you were the best dog I could've ever asked for, you saved me at a time when nothing else could! I will love you forever! Rest in peace my sweet angel.”
