Mike Zimmer, the longtime NFL coach, has begun 2025 with exciting news—he's engaged to model Katarina Miketin. On January 3, Miketin shared the heartwarming announcement on Instagram, revealing that she had said "Yes!" to Zimmer, 68. The couple, together since 2021, celebrated the moment with an emotional post, marking a new chapter in Zimmer's life after experiencing personal hardships.
In her touching caption, Miketin reflected on their journey together: "Five years ago, they told us we needed to meet…God knew what He was doing. I thank Him for you, my best friend…so, of course." Zimmer's first wife, Vikki, tragically passed away in October 2009 at the age of 50 from natural causes. Zimmer had described her as “the sweetest, kindest, most caring person who'd never say a bad word about anybody.”
In addition to the loss of his wife, Zimmer also endured the heartbreaking death of his son, Adam, in November 2022. Adam’s passing, which was due to chronic alcohol abuse, deeply affected Zimmer. His daughter, Corri Zimmer White, shared a heartfelt tribute to her brother on Instagram, remembering him as “the kindest, sweetest, family-loving, sports-obsessed soul there ever was.”
Zimmer, despite facing personal tragedies, has remained strong and dedicated to his work with the Dallas Cowboys. During a press conference in December 2024, Zimmer praised his late son, calling him a “terrific” kid and sharing an emotional tribute to Adam's passion for football. "He was smart and had a deep love for football. He would’ve given anything to be here. I know he’s up there watching over me, cheering every Sunday," Zimmer said through tears.
