Gladiators Apollo 'harassed by stalker'.
Police are conducting an investigation following reports that Gladiators star Apollo, whose real name is Alex Gray, was allegedly stalked and harassed.
The 33-year-old confirmed that an "incident" occurred and is currently awaiting updates from law enforcement regarding potential actions to be taken.
According to reports, Gray was targeted by a woman both on the set of the television program in Sheffield and at his temporary residence in the city. South Yorkshire Police acknowledged awareness of the situation involving a man in his 30s experiencing stalking and harassment. A police spokesperson stated, "An investigation has been initiated, and inquiries are ongoing."
In a statement to The Sun On Sunday, Gray remarked, "There was an incident. That is all I can disclose until further developments arise and actions are taken. Perhaps there may not be any actions. I am still awaiting information. The police are handling the matter." Additionally, it has been reported that the BBC and production company Hungry Bear Media have implemented additional "support and protection" measures around the Utilita Arena Sheffield and the apartment complex where cast members reside during filming.
Prior to his television career, Gray played rugby union for the England rugby sevens team before transitioning to NFL American football. He was one of the 16 "superhumans" who joined the Gladiators cast when the show was revived by the BBC last year. The second season of Gladiators premiered on BBC One last weekend, following a successful first series that attracted millions of viewers.
