Jelly Roll Fears Daughter Following In His Footsteps.
Former inmate Jelly Roll, who has spent over 40 stints behind bars before turning his life around through music, is deeply concerned about his 16-year-old daughter, Bailee Ann, potentially following a similar troubled path.
As readers may recall, in 2022, Jelly made the decision to send Bailee to live with her mother, his ex-wife Felicia Beckwith, who was believed to have overcome her addiction.
However, Bailee surprised both her father, now 40, and the public when she admitted to smoking marijuana, drinking, and using prescription pills alongside her mother, who had unfortunately relapsed.
Since that revelation, Jelly has been keeping a close watch on his daughter, even though her actions seem minor compared to his past offenses of drug dealing and robbery.
“When I look at what she does that I consider horrible, I look back at what I was doing at 16, and I’m like, ‘Oh man,’ ” he admits. “When I’m hard on her about stuff or a little pushy, she knows it’s from love.”
Jelly often tells Bailee, “I don’t judge you based on what you do. I judge you based on what I know you’re capable of. So don’t try to talk your way out of getting in trouble … by weaponizing my past.” A source close to the family reveals, “Bailee has a good head on her shoulders and is planning for college. But Jelly says his past still haunts him and he doesn’t ever want his daughter to feel that kind of remorse.”
