Jennifer Kesse Disappearance: Family Seeks Answers.
Jennifer Kesse, a Florida woman who mysteriously disappeared 19 years ago, continues to remain missing, and her family is urgently seeking answers. The case has baffled authorities and the public alike, but the Kesse family refuses to give up hope in finding their daughter and sister.
The Disappearance of Jennifer Kesse
Jennifer was last seen on January 23, 2006, after a phone call with her father. Just a short time later, her car was discovered about a mile from her condo in Orlando, Florida. Surveillance footage captured an individual parking Jennifer’s car and then walking away, but the video quality was too poor for police to identify the man.
Despite the years that have passed, Jennifer's family, particularly her parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, have remained relentlessly dedicated to uncovering what happened to their daughter. Over the years, they have fought tirelessly to keep the case alive, even seeking legal action to gain access to all case files in 2018.
The Ongoing Efforts to Find Jennifer
In November 2022, Drew and Joyce Kesse shared their findings with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), who have since taken over the investigation. While Drew acknowledges that he remains unsure about the current status of the case, he is optimistic that the investigation is now more thorough than ever.
“What we do know is that since FDLE has taken it over, and it seems the last year, it seems to be Jennifer’s turn, all the resources are there, the personnel is there and the money is there,” Drew Kesse shared.
Drew further revealed that the FDLE has interviewed over 60 individuals and has reviewed previously collected evidence, including DNA, as part of the ongoing investigation into Jennifer’s disappearance.
The Emotional Toll on the Kesse Family
Despite the progress made in the investigation, the emotional toll on the Kesse family remains profound. Drew explained that the 19 years without closure have completely changed their lives.
“We’ve recently retired, but it pretty much takes your friends, part of your family, it takes your house, it takes your job, and it takes pretty much all your money. And depression is there. Anxiety is always there. It’s a heinous crime that happened to Jennifer. It didn’t happen to us. We’re byproduct victims. I don’t know if there’s a worse crime, to be quite honest with you, being taken by another person and not being found. So it’s difficult, but we’re strong people,” Drew said.
The emotional and financial strain of the years spent searching for answers has been difficult, but Drew remains determined, urging anyone with information to come forward.
A Call for the Public’s Help
Drew Kesse is convinced that someone out there knows what happened to Jennifer and has been urging anyone with knowledge to step forward.
“She didn’t have any enemies, and I hate to sit here and say that over a 20-year period that my daughter was perfect but she was close to it,” he said.
Jennifer’s case remains open, and the Kesse family continues to hold out hope for a breakthrough. The family has set up a tip line for anyone with information: Kesse Family Tip Line: 941-201-4009 or visit their GoFundMe page at www.gofundme.com/help-us-find-jennifer-kesse.
