John Cena Assists McDonald's in Unveiling the New McValue Menu — and Shares the Item That Brings Back Fond Memories.
McDonald’s has launched a new McValue menu today, and John Cena is thrilled about it. The wrestler and actor teamed up with the fast-food giant to kick off the campaign on Tuesday, January 7.
He shared, “McDonald's is a global phenomenon, a slice of Americana, and it has been a significant part of my life with food for as long as I can remember.” This new budget-friendly menu features the popular $5 Meal Deal, local food and drink specials, and in-app promotions, including free medium fries with a $1 purchase every Friday in 2025 and a complimentary McCrispy chicken sandwich for new users.
Additionally, there will be a buy one, get one for $1 deal on various breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. Cena, 47, revealed his favorite McDonald’s meal, saying, “I am such a creature of habit.” He typically chooses two double cheeseburgers and two six-piece Chicken McNuggets. “I usually skip the drinks because I want to savor the flavors,” he explains.

For breakfast, he finds it hard to choose between a McGriddle and a classic Egg McMuffin, and he admits he has a soft spot for the restaurant’s hash browns. “I've had quite a journey with McDonald's over the nearly 48 years I've been alive,” he reflects. “Anything on their menu can bring back a wave of emotions, and they’re all positive.”
Cena fondly recalls enjoying the chain’s PlayPlaces and Happy Meals while growing up with four brothers in Massachusetts. “Coming from a family of five, we would trade Happy Meals and toys, and there was a time when Happy Meals included Transformers that started as a McDonald's shake and then turned into a robot, or began as a burger and transformed into a robot.” Cena also mentions that McDonald’s was a popular hangout spot when his older brother got his first job there. He developed his current order of double cheeseburgers and McNuggets during his WWE touring days when he needed a late-night meal after events in different cities.
That first bite of a Big Mac was truly unforgettable, he shares. “As a kid, I always viewed it as this epic sandwich that seemed out of reach. Then, as a teenager, it felt amazing to finally be big enough to order one.” Cena's focus for the upcoming year is centered on the WWE Farewell Tour. He revealed in July that 2025 will mark his last year in the ring. “I take great pride each year in evaluating myself and setting resolutions and goals across all areas—physical, mental, and spiritual,” he continues. “I don’t always achieve them; I stumble on quite a few. But I really enjoy setting ambitious goals and giving my all to achieve them.”
