Khloe Kardashian Opens Up About Co-Parenting With Tristan Thompson and Her Dating Life.
Khloe Kardashian has candidly shared her thoughts on her relationship with ex Tristan Thompson, as well as her current approach to dating, on her new podcast Khloe in Wonder Land. The 40-year-old reality star, who shares two children with the 33-year-old NBA player—True, 6, and Tatum, 2—revealed that while she and Tristan maintain a strong co-parenting relationship, she’s not focused on dating at the moment.
"Tristan and I co-parent really well," Khloe said, speaking openly about their relationship after their split. Despite the challenges they've faced, she expressed contentment with her current situation. "I've chosen not to—because I genuinely don't want to—I'm not dating," Khloe explained. "My relationship with my kids just is everything to me."
Khloe made it clear that if love happens to come her way in the future, she’s open to it, but it's not something she’s actively seeking right now. "If I meet someone in two months, two years, and I fall in love—great," she said. "But I'm not actively on the dating scene searching for someone, and I'm so happy. I feel so fulfilled."
When discussing what she would want in a future partner, Khloe shared her priorities: "One that I would want to be around my children and around my family." She added, "Where I am in my life right now, I just really want to nurture this love and I just want to be as present as I can. I don't want any distractions in my life."
Khloe and Tristan’s relationship has been anything but straightforward. They welcomed their daughter True on April 12, 2018, but their world was rocked days before her birth by shocking cheating allegations. Just hours before Khloe was set to give birth, Tristan was caught on video kissing another woman at a Manhattan club. A source at the time revealed that Khloe felt Tristan didn't fully comprehend the consequences of his actions, which had far-reaching effects on the entire Kardashian family.
In February 2019, more drama followed when reports surfaced of Tristan’s kiss with Jordyn Woods, a close family friend. Although Khloe gave him a second chance, the relationship ultimately ended when Tristan fathered a son, Theo, with Maralee Nichols in December 2021. This revelation came as a blow to Khloe, who was then expecting their second child. Tristan quickly confirmed his paternity via Instagram, taking full responsibility for his actions. "Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son," he said.
Khloe and Tristan welcomed their son Tatum via surrogate on July 28, 2022. Since their breakup, the former couple has maintained a cordial and cooperative relationship, with Khloe admitting that they have a positive dynamic for the sake of their children. "He did make mistakes," Khloe told SHE MD in May. "He's the nicest guy and we get along so well now."
Khloe added, "We're not meant to be together, but he was meant to be the father of these kids. And we do get along so well and I'm really grateful for that because my parents got along so well."
Although Khloe has no intentions of rekindling her relationship with Tristan, she is focused on being the best mother she can be for True and Tatum, and for now, her priorities remain firmly centred on her family.
