Apollo Nida Accused of Adultery and Abuse as Wife Sherien Files for Divorce.
Apollo Nida, ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, is facing divorce papers from his current wife, Sherien Copes, who has accused him of adultery and cruel treatment. Sherien, 44, filed for divorce on February 7, 2024, citing the breakdown of their marriage due to Apollo's behavior.
According to court documents , Sherien listed their marriage date as October 14, 2022, and their separation date as November 1, 2023. She also stated that she was not requesting alimony from Apollo, 46. In her filing, Sherien claimed their marriage was "irretrievably broken" and there was no chance of reconciliation. She further accused Apollo of subjecting her to cruelty, alleging that he had engaged in multiple instances of adultery during their marriage. She wrote, "[Apollo] has committed adultery multiple times throughout our relationship. [Apollo] refused to seek professional help with his mental health issues and instead he emotionally and physically abused me and brought great emotional abuse to his stepdaughter."
Sherien’s filing also described how Apollo had “intentionally and continually deserted me for at least a year.” She asked the court to grant her a divorce and divide the marital assets and debts.
In addition, Sherien filed an alleged settlement agreement that was signed by both parties in October. The document outlined that the couple would continue to live in their marital home until they each found a suitable living arrangement and reached an agreement on asset division. The agreement also stated that Apollo would waive his right to spousal support. A permanent restraining order was included in the agreement, barring Apollo from harassing or stalking Sherien.
Apollo, however, disputed Sherien's accusations, saying, “I did not agree to anything. We [will] have our day in court. A lot of that language is false.”
In a separate incident in March 2024, Apollo was arrested on a charge of simple assault following a physical altercation with Sherien. The situation began when Sherien called the police, alleging that Apollo had become physical with her. According to the police report, Sherien claimed that after coming home from a night out with a friend, she and Apollo got into a heated argument. She alleged that Apollo showed her a video of her kissing another man, which led to him pulling her hair and pushing her against a refrigerator.
Sherien claimed they had a “scuffle” and that she ran outside to seek help. She said when she returned to retrieve her phone, Apollo was gone. The police report indicated that Sherien showed officers video footage of the verbal altercation, but there was no visual evidence of a physical confrontation.
Apollo, in turn, told officers that he attempted to take Sherien’s phone during their argument. He claimed that she curled up on the floor to protect the phone but he was able to retrieve it. Apollo also stated that he chased after Sherien when she ran outside to get help. Neither party had visible injuries when officers arrived. Apollo was arrested and later released on a $3,000 bond. He was officially charged with one misdemeanor count of simple battery/family violence, with the charging document stating that Apollo had made “physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature” with Sherien by pulling her hair and pushing her.
At the time of the incident, Sherien said, “It was a huge blow out between a married couple that has brought us much closer since then. We have worked through our issues and have been going to couples therapy. The end.” She also denied the accusations of cheating.

Apollo's criminal case has seen little movement since the incident. He remains on federal probation for a separate case involving bank fraud and identity theft, which led to his 2014 conviction and an eight-year prison sentence.
Apollo and Phaedra were married from 2009 to 2014 and share two children, Ayden and Dylan. Phaedra is set to return to Real Housewives of Atlanta this season.
