Who is Kodak Black?

Bill Kahan Kapri, better known by his stage name Kodak Black, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter born on June 11, 1997, as Dieuson Octave. He gained initial fame in 2014 with his hit songs "No Flockin" and "Skrt," which earned him a record deal with Atlantic Records. "No Flockin" received double platinum certification from the RIAA, while "Skrt" was certified platinum. The success of these tracks marked the beginning of Kodak’s rise in the music industry, with "No Flockin" even becoming a sleeper hit, reaching the Billboard Hot 100 two years after its release.

In 2017, Kodak’s career reached new heights with the success of his single "Tunnel Vision," which peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. This led to the release of his debut studio album Painting Pictures, which reached number three on the Billboard 200. His mixtape Project Baby 2, released the same year, peaked at number two, featuring the triple platinum-certified hit "Roll in Peace" with XXXTentacion.

Kodak's second album, Dying to Live (2018), topped the Billboard 200 chart and featured the massive single "Zeze," which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned sextuple platinum certification. This remains his highest-charting song.

Despite his success, Kodak's career has been marred by legal issues and controversies. He faced a rape accusation in 2016 and was later convicted of false statements to possess firearms, leading to a nearly four-year federal prison sentence. His sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump in 2021.

Kodak Black and Maranda 'Mjae' Johnson

Maranda 'Mjae' Johnson, a prominent figure on WAGs To Riches, is known for her fiery personality and tumultuous relationship with rapper Kodak Black. Mjae, a reality TV star and entrepreneur, works as a realtor for Allure Realty, owned by Sharelle Rosado, and is the founder of Seven Luke Cosmetics. She joined Allure Realty at just 21 years old.

Mjae has been in an on-and-off relationship with Kodak since 2017, and the couple shares two children: a daughter, Queen Yuri, born on 22 January 2022, and a son, Prince Kapri, born on 27 February 2024.

On the show, Mjae spoke candidly about the challenges of dating an artist, saying, "The bad things that come along with dating an artist is all the little girls. They're like flies that won't go away. You just gotta swat them b***hes. They're just annoying. But long as your man have self-control... Some men do. Some don't."

Mjae made headlines for her arrest in 2023 for burglary, battery, and grand theft after an alleged altercation with Jammiah Broomfield, Kodak's first child's mother. She spent a night in prison following the incident, which Mjae discussed on the show. I guess it runs in the family...
