Marcus Jordan Pleads Not Guilty to DUI, Cocaine Possession, and Resisting Arrest.
Marcus Jordan, the 34-year-old son of NBA icon Michael Jordan, has pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI, cocaine possession, and resisting arrest. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in the early hours of February 4, 2025, when he was arrested in Maitland, Florida.
According to court documents obtained by Lawyer Monthly, Marcus Jordan entered his not guilty plea on Friday, February 7, for his second-degree misdemeanor DUI charge. The documents were filed in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, and TMZ Sports was first to report the news. Alongside the DUI charge, Marcus was also charged with felony cocaine possession and first-degree misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence. His attorneys, Warren W. Lindsey and Matthew P. Ferry, filed a request for a jury trial for all charges and waived his first court appearance. His next court date is scheduled for March 20, which will be a pretrial conference for the DUI charge. The trial for the two other charges, however, has not yet been scheduled.
Marcus Jordan’s arrest took place after police officers in Maitland noticed his car stopped on train tracks, with its lights on, in the early morning hours of February 4. Authorities confirmed with local dispatch that a train was approaching the tracks, set to arrive in about 10 minutes. According to the arrest report, Marcus told officers he had made a "wrong turn" onto the tracks. Officers noted visible damage to the car, likely caused by rocks from the tracks, and that the vehicle’s tires were "halfway buried in the dirt/rocks" from spinning on the tracks.
At the time, Maitland police had been alerted to a vehicle that had fled from a traffic stop. Upon confirmation, officers identified the vehicle as Marcus’s, based on its license plate. Officers reported that Marcus had bloodshot eyes, was slurring his speech, and smelled strongly of alcohol. During questioning, Marcus admitted to consuming "some" alcoholic drinks and revealed that he had been at a gentleman's club earlier in the night.
In addition to the signs of intoxication, a small plastic bag containing a white substance was found in Marcus’s pocket. The substance later tested positive for cocaine. On February 6, Marcus addressed the situation publicly via an Instagram Story post, stating that he is “focusing on” his Orlando-based boutique and would not be making further comments on the incident. He expressed his gratitude for the support, writing, "I appreciate everyone reaching out. I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding."
Marcus Jordan's legal team, including Lindsey and Ferry, did not immediately respond to Lawyer Monthly's request for comment on February 8. However, the case has drawn considerable attention, especially given Marcus's famous family background. His next court appearance will shed more light on the unfolding legal proceedings.
As the case develops, all eyes will be on Marcus Jordan as he navigates the legal challenges stemming from his arrest, while continuing to manage his business endeavors in Orlando.
