Jacobson, who came out publicly in June 2024, was also recognized at the event for her advocacy work. She received the Visibility Award from the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the U.S., in honor of her representation of the community.
In her acceptance speech, she spoke about the power of vulnerability and visibility. “To be visible is to be vulnerable,” she said. “Unfortunately, vulnerability is often seen as a weakness. But in truth, it’s one of the most powerful tools that we have for connection.”
She went on to emphasize the importance of authenticity, saying, “As an actor, I’ve learned that the most powerful performances happen when the actor allows themselves to be revelatory — when they drop the mask and stand in the raw truth of who they are. It’s the same in life.” Jacobson believes that those moments when we show our true selves are when we connect with others.
Reflecting on her journey with her sexuality, Jacobson expressed immense gratitude for the support she has received. “It means everything to be honored,” she said, acknowledging the recognition she received from the HRC. “I am so, so grateful and thankful to the HRC. I was surprised because I had only recently come out. It’s such a brilliant opportunity to speak about visibility and what it means to this community and what it means to me.”

Jacobson, who stars in The Gilded Age, is particularly thankful for the welcoming LGBTQ+ community in her industry. She shares, “I am so lucky that I work in the industry that I do. I’m in a community of artists who also identify as LGBTQ so it’s just a warm, lovely welcome that I am blessed to have and I don’t take that for granted.”
In June 2024, Jacobson went public with her relationship with Anna Blundell, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post where she wrote, “blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era bb ❤️🔥🏳️🌈.” The post included intimate photos of the couple, including a shot in a room bathed in red light and a few mirror selfies.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, the couple is ready to celebrate their love with dancing, making this year’s celebration a special one.
