Shannon Beador, 60, star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, recently visited New York City with her daughter, Sophie. This trip was extra special as it was their first flight together since Sophie moved to the city. The mother-daughter duo created lasting memories in the Big Apple, sharing photos on Instagram to capture their precious moments.
Sophie, 23, who graduated from Baylor University earlier this year, recently relocated to New York City to begin her post-college life. This visit from Shannon gave Sophie the chance to reconnect with her mom while settling into her new routine. As a mother, Shannon’s trip was a meaningful moment to witness Sophie embracing her independence and bonding during this exciting chapter of her daughter’s life.

While Sophie was the focus of this trip, she is not Shannon's only daughter. Shannon is also the proud mother of 20-year-old twins, Stella and Adeline. The twins have always been a significant part of Shannon’s life, and while her recent trip to New York City was centered around Sophie, Shannon’s relationship with her other daughters remains equally strong. As her daughters grow older and begin their own journeys, Shannon continues to be a loving and supportive presence in their lives.

Sophie made her move to New York City just a few months after earning a bachelor’s degree in Sports Sales Leadership and Management from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Shannon shared in a July Instagram video, "Sophie got a job offer in New York City. We are so proud of her and she starts next week."
Sophie isn’t the only Beador sister making her mark in Manhattan. Adeline Beador, the younger twin, relocated to New York in 2023 to pursue her studies at the renowned Parsons School of Design. Meanwhile, Shannon’s other daughter, Stella, is enrolled at the University of Southern California. However, Stella has been spending each semester studying abroad in France, and Shannon shared, "Stella was in Paris last year for the USC Trojan transfer, and she loved it so much she’s going to stay one more year."
Shannon acknowledged that it’s been tough watching her daughters leave Southern California, but she has enjoyed visiting them often, splitting her time between her home in Orange County and Manhattan. Shannon even shared her excitement about possibly relocating to the East Coast for good. "I do see myself, someday, moving back East. People think that I’m from the East Coast, but I’m not. Born and raised SoCal. West Coast," she added.

Aside from her trip to New York, Shannon’s recent headlines also include her legal dispute with ex-boyfriend John Janssen. The former couple had been embroiled in a lawsuit over a $75,000 loan Janssen claimed he gave Beador for her facelift. The lawsuit, which had been ongoing for several months, was officially settled in November 2024.
Janssen alleged that he lent Beador $40,000 in January 2022 and another $35,000 in May 2023 for her cosmetic surgery. He argued that the money was a loan and not a gift. Beador, however, maintained that the money was a gift.
In an effort to avoid a prolonged legal battle and escalating costs, Beador ultimately agreed to settle the case. Her attorney, Dave Beitchman, remarked, "While she was certainly prepared to fight for the truth, I congratulate her in taking the high road and putting this matter behind her."
"I’ve been through a lot, but I’ve learned that you can’t let life knock you down. You have to get up, keep moving forward, and focus on your happiness."
As part of the settlement, Beador paid Janssen $60,000, which covered nearly the entire loan amount. She even shared a receipt of the payment on Instagram, signaling the resolution of their legal dispute.
The resolution of this lawsuit allows both Beador and Janssen to move forward without further legal entanglements. Since the settlement, Janssen has become engaged to Alexis Bellino, another former RHOC cast member.
