CBP Officers Seize Over $2.4 Million in Methamphetamine at Pharr International Bridge.
PHARR, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers intercepted a large shipment of methamphetamine valued at $2,404,300 at the Pharr International Bridge on March 7, 2025. The drugs, concealed within a shipment of Persian limes, highlight the ongoing efforts of CBP to prevent harmful narcotics from entering the United States.
Seizure Details: Nearly 269 Pounds of Methamphetamine
CBP officers working at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility stopped a commercial tractor-trailer entering the U.S. from Mexico for inspection. Utilizing nonintrusive inspection equipment and a canine team, officers conducted a thorough search and discovered 960 packages of methamphetamine hidden inside the cargo.
The total weight of the seized methamphetamine was 268.96 pounds (122 kg). Had the drugs been sold on the street, they would have been worth approximately $2.4 million.

Methamphetamine Seized: A Critical Blow to Drug Trafficking
The methamphetamine was concealed within a shipment of Persian limes. This seizure represents a significant victory for CBP officers working at one of the busiest ports of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Carlos Rodriguez, the Port Director for the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry, praised the officers’ role in intercepting the dangerous drugs:
“Our CBP officers continue to safeguard America’s border by keeping harmful narcotics off our streets,” Rodriguez stated.
Criminal Investigation Underway
Following the seizure, CBP officials confiscated both the narcotics and the vehicle involved in the shipment. The case has now been referred to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), who have launched a criminal investigation into the trafficking operation behind the shipment.
