Kandi Burruss Dismissed from Blaze Restaurant Lawsuit Over Unpaid Rent.
Kandi Burruss, former Real Housewives of Atlanta star and entrepreneur, has successfully had all allegations against her dismissed in a lawsuit over unpaid rent at her Atlanta restaurant, Blaze. The lawsuit, filed by her landlord, Montego Pacific Inc., initially sought significant payments for overdue rent and repair costs but has been significantly reduced after court documents revealed key details regarding Burruss’s personal involvement.

The Lawsuit Details
On March 3, 2025, Montego Pacific Inc. filed a lawsuit claiming that Kandi Burruss, her husband Todd Tucker, and their company, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group, were responsible for a total of $154,139.17 in overdue rent. The suit also included an additional $56,495.75 for repairs to the property. The landlord asserted that the couple’s business violated the terms of their lease by failing to pay rent on time and neglecting proper property maintenance. As a result, Montego Pacific Inc. had to shoulder unexpected repair costs.
The legal complaint outlined that the breach of the lease caused significant financial damage to the landlord, with the potential for more costs accruing at a rate of $12,083.50 per month.

Kandi Burruss’s Personal Guaranty Expired
However, after the lawsuit was filed, Burruss’s attorney presented evidence that Kandi’s personal guaranty for the restaurant’s commercial lease had expired prior to the filing of the complaint. As a result, the landlord agreed to remove Kandi Burruss as a defendant in the case. A representative for Montego Pacific Inc. confirmed this development, explaining that keeping her as a defendant in the lawsuit no longer served a practical purpose.
Court documents show that on March 16, 2025, Montego Pacific Inc. officially notified the court that it would no longer pursue claims against Burruss personally. The representative added, “As Kandi’s liability has lapsed, the lawsuit will proceed against Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group and Blaze Steakhouse.”

Kandi Responds to the Allegations
Kandi Burruss has publicly responded to the lawsuit, insisting that her name was included for publicity purposes. She stated that the dispute was mainly about who was responsible for certain repairs to the property, and not about intentional wrongdoing.
“I believe they included my name to gain publicity for the lawsuit,” Kandi explained. She went on to clarify that the situation was a misunderstanding over the repair responsibilities and that efforts were being made to resolve the issue. “It seems like we’re on track to reach an agreement, so everything should be okay.”

Kandi and Todd’s ventures, particularly their restaurants, have become central to their business portfolio. Despite the ongoing lawsuit, Burruss remains committed to her growing restaurant empire, which has seen success since the opening of Old Lady Gang in 2017.
Lawsuit Update and Future Plans
