Therapy and Mental Health: A Crucial Step in Woodall's Journey

“I think it takes therapy. I think everyone should do that,” Woodall shared. “I think I found a lot of confidence, a newfound confidence…”

Woodall explained that as his career accelerated, he made the conscious decision to seek professional help. “I want to make sure that I protect myself and stay sane and don’t lose myself,” he said, emphasizing the importance of working through personal struggles and talking about them.

Despite sometimes feeling great and not needing therapy, Woodall reflected, “Those days are also incredibly important.” He emphasized that therapy built resilience, self-acceptance, and a better understanding that everyone has their own struggles.

Leo Woodall’s Role in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy

Woodall also opened up about his role as Roxster in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, where he starred alongside Renée Zellweger. For the actor, being part of the iconic franchise was a surreal experience.

“That’s one of those surreal moments… I love Bridget Jones. It is one of those films that I'd probably watched for the first time very young at Christmas,” he said. “To be a part of it, it’s very, very, very special.”

Woodall praised Zellweger’s portrayal of Bridget over the span of 20 years, calling it a rare and remarkable achievement. “She’s made so many people, if not feel seen, but just feel cozy,” Woodall added.

He also noted how the film has stayed true to the essence of Bridget Jones while adding new layers, particularly how Bridget deals with grief.

The “Toyboy” Label: Leo Woodall’s Take

In a candid moment, Woodall addressed the "toyboy" label, which often surfaces regarding his character Roxster's romance with an older woman in the film. The actor dismissed the term, stating that he wasn’t bothered by it and emphasized the real connection his character shares with Bridget.

“I think Roxster is more than just a toyboy,” Woodall explained. “They do have a real relationship and find a real connection.”

Woodall noted that while the dynamic of a younger man and older woman in a romance is still seen as unconventional, such relationships are not unusual. He acknowledged that this shift in perspective is essential, as the older man/younger woman trope has been widely depicted in media.

Leo Woodall and Meghann Fahy: A Rare Update on Their Relationship

In addition to discussing his career, Woodall gave a rare glimpse into his relationship with White Lotus co-star Meghann Fahy, 34. The couple met while filming season two of the show in Sicily and has been going strong ever since.

Woodall revealed he’s “very, very happy” with Fahy and shared that life would be "a bit too crazy" without her by his side. The two confirmed their romance in November 2023 after being spotted sharing a kiss in New York City.

Leo Woodall’s candid interview sheds light on his personal and professional journey. From seeking therapy for mental health to reflecting on his role in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Woodall offers an inspiring perspective on navigating fame, relationships, and personal growth.
