Tori Spelling’s Hilarious Water Aversion and Quirky Drink Habits.
Tori Spelling, 51, has never been shy about sharing personal details with her 17.5 million Instagram followers, but on the March 11 episode of her MisSPELLING podcast, she revealed an unexpected fact: she hates water.
"I don't drink water. And when I say I don't drink water, I don't drink water," Spelling confessed on her podcast. "How I'm still living, no one knows. I'm like a cacti. Just water me once in a while, and I somehow survive."

Spelling's aversion to water goes beyond simple preference. She shared that she has a long-standing fear of drinking liquids given to her by others, stemming from childhood experiences. This fear, which she calls "irrational," makes her question whether her drinks have been poisoned.
For example, when her ex-husband Dean McDermott handed her a ginger ale, Spelling thought he had put something in it. "I’m Aaron Spelling’s daughter, hello," she said, referring to her late father, famed TV producer Aaron Spelling. She joked that her father was the "creator of drama-rama storytelling," adding a lighthearted touch to the story.
Despite the humor, Spelling’s fears are rooted in her childhood. "When my mom would give me medication as a child, she’d mash it up with Coke syrup," she explained. "I’d always ask, 'What’d you put in here? Like, what are you giving me?' And she would say the same thing: ‘What, you think I’m trying to poison you?’"
Though her fear is not strictly related to water itself, it remains a significant part of her relationship with drinks. Spelling admits that while she dislikes water, she was compelled to drink it during her pregnancies. "You have to hydrate the baby growing in you," she said. "But in my mind, I was like, ‘I’m drinking for them, not myself.’"
When it comes to her drink choices, Spelling is very specific. She enjoys ginger ale when things get "stressful" and Diet Dr. Pepper when she’s "thriving." However, there’s one drink she’s surprisingly come to appreciate: coconut water. "I actually enjoy the taste of coconut water," she shared, noting her effort to find an alternative to water.

In true Tori fashion, she also poked fun at herself. “I can guzzle a glass of wine in, like, two seconds. No problem," Spelling joked. "But I take a few sips of water and swallow gently, and all of a sudden, I’m like, ‘I wanna puke.’”
