Tragic Death of Miller Gardner: Authorities Reveal New Findings in Case.
Costa Rican authorities have updated their initial findings regarding the cause of death of 14-year-old Miller Gardner, the son of former New York Yankees star Brett Gardner.
Initially, investigators proposed that Miller's death could have been caused by asphyxiation following vomiting, potentially triggered by food poisoning. However, subsequent investigations have prompted a revision of this theory, as no abnormalities were found in his respiratory tract during the body inspection.
Initial Findings and Reversal of Theory
Upon further examination, a pathologist confirmed that there was no clear evidence of asphyxia, leading Costa Rica's Judicial Investigation Agency to retract their initial assessment.

Juan Pablo Alvarado Garcia, an official from the agency, explained that the body inspection revealed no anomalies in the respiratory tract at a macro level, thus ruling out asphyxia as the cause of death.
Alvarado Garcia emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that autopsy results, which could take two to three months to complete, are necessary to determine the exact cause of Miller's death.
What We Know About Miller Gardner's Illness
Miller, along with his family, had fallen ill after eating at a local restaurant near the family’s hotel in the popular Pacific Coast resort area of Costa Rica.
The family received medical treatment from the hotel’s medical team after their illness. Initial reports indicated that Miller may have asphyxiated on his vomit due to food intoxication.
However, questions remain as to whether the illness was caused by food poisoning, medication, or an underlying medical condition triggered by the incident.
