Bedell Cristin, in coordination with DLA Piper UK LLP, has advised Harrison Street – a leading investment management firm focused exclusively on alternative real estate assets – on its sale of seven purpose-built student accommodation assets to Global Student Accommodation (GSA), an investment specialist that focuses on real estate management in the student housing sector.
Six of these assets were held in an existing joint venture partnership with GSA prior to this transaction, which sees Harrison Street’s interest in the assets passing to GSA, while the seventh – Scotway House, Glasgow – was previously held by Harrison Street in a joint venture partnership with Structured House Group.
Located in top-tier university cities across the UK, the portfolio of seven properties consists of 2,171 beds serving students attending City University of London, London School of Economics, Newcastle University, Northumbria University, University of Lincoln, Nottingham Trent University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Exeter, and University of Glasgow.
The Bedell Cristin team comprised partner Bruce Scott and associate Daniel McAviney.
