International law firm Olswang is pleased to welcome five of its female lawyers to its growing partnership: Melissa Brett, Anna Caddick, Katie Nagy de Nagybaczon, Jessica Schinkel and Clara Steinitz. The new partners represent a variety of sectors and practice areas in the UK and France.

With the latest partner promotions, the firm now has 122 partners across its eight offices in Europe and Asia. The new partners bring a wealth of experience in the technology, media, telecoms (TMT) and real estate sectors across corporate, intellectual property (IP) and commercial litigation.

Real estate lawyer Melissa Brett joined the firm's London office in 2003. She acts on commercial real estate matters across a range of sectors including finance, investment and development. Melissa has over 10 years' experience advising clients on the sale, purchase and management of commercial portfolios, shopping centres, retail parks and offices. She also specialises in the student accommodation sector and has recently advised Brandeaux Student Accommodation Fund on its sale of Liberty Living to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Melissa also acts on real estate finance matters for lender and borrower clients.

London-based commercial litigator Anna Caddick acts on a range of commercial disputes for both private individuals and corporations, many of which are based internationally, including in the CIS. Since coming to the firm in 2009, Anna has worked on both litigation and arbitration matters across a range of sectors, including finance and the media. For three years she acted for an individual defendant resident in the Russian Federation in respect of a series of fraud claims brought by his former employer. Anna also regularly acts in respect of breach of contract, shareholder activism and defamation matters.

Corporate lawyer Katie Nagy de Nagybaczon joined the firm's London office in 2006, with a focus on the retail/ecommerce and technology sectors. Katie has more than a decade of experience advising on UK and international M&A, joint ventures, initial public offerings, fundraisings and investments. Her recent experience includes advising on the acquisition of a majority interest in the luxury furniture designer, Linley, and Tesco PLC subsidiary dunnhumby on its acquisition of global advertising technology firm Sociomantic labs. Katie also works with the fashion incubator Centre for Fashion Enterprise and the fashion technology accelerator Front Row, mentoring entrepreneurs who are seeking external investment.

Jessica Schinkel joined Olswang in 2011 when it opened its Paris office. Specialising in corporate and stock exchange law, Jessica is skilled in advising in a number of sectors, notably in TMT. She has developed strong experience in corporate finance, M&A and private equity deals, as well as capital market, IPOs and other take-over bid transactions. She advises a variety of French and international clients including public and private entities, investment banks and equity houses at all stages of their development, most notably in developing domestic and cross-border growth strategy, investments, restructuring process and divestments and on joint ventures.

IP lawyer Clara Steinitz joined Olswang's Paris office in 2012. She advises French and international clients in protecting, exploiting and enforcing their IP rights, across a diverse range of business sectors, especially in the technology, media and retail spaces. Her practice combines IP litigation - primarily for copyright matters, trademark infringement, passing off and other unfair trade practices - with non-contentious IP-related advisory and contractual work, covering licensing and other contractual arrangements. She also advises clients on the management of international trade mark portfolios and domain name recovery issues.

Olswang CEO Michael Burdon commented: "I am proud to welcome these five outstanding lawyers to the Olswang partnership. Melissa, Anna, Katie, Jessica and Clara are part of a successful growth strategy in key areas of the firm. They each embody Olswang's values of innovation, collaboration and responsibility, and I'm delighted to have them as my fellow partners. I look forward to seeing them continue to flourish and develop their careers and practice areas."
