Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Sex Crimes Trial Date Set.
Sean "Diddy" Combs made his way to federal court in Manhattan on Thursday, October 10, where a judge scheduled his trial for May 5, 2025.
This marked the music mogul's first court appearance since facing federal sex crime charges. Dressed in tan prison attire, Combs remained still and focused straight ahead during the proceedings. As he exited the holding area, he greeted family members in the gallery with a wave and shared hugs with his legal team.
Prosecutors indicated that it could take around a month to retrieve data from the devices that were seized. They described the volume of data as "extraordinary" and mentioned the possibility of a superseding indictment once the extraction is complete.
His court appearance drew significant attention following his indictment on September 17 for charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. The indictment revolves around alleged "freak offs," which prosecutors claim were elaborate sexual performances involving women who were either forced or coerced to take part alongside male sex workers.

The hearing on October 10 followed Combs' legal team's appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, seeking his release on bail prior to his trial. Previously, two judges had denied bail for the music mogul, expressing concerns about possible witness tampering.
Combs, who has entered a not guilty plea, is currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and will remain there until his trial unless his appeal is granted. The indictment against the founder of Bad Boy Records also includes references to surveillance footage showing Combs allegedly assaulting a woman in a Los Angeles hotel, where he seems to throw an object at her and kick her.
Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, the woman featured in the video, was the first to bring a civil lawsuit against Combs, alleging sexual misconduct last November. A video related to the hotel incident emerged in May, initially reported by CNN. In a court filing dated Wednesday, Oct. 9, Combs' legal team claimed that the federal government leaked the video and is requesting that it be kept under wraps.

"The leaks have led to harmful and highly biased media coverage, particularly sensationalizing the investigation and the involvement of Mr. Combs’ family," the attorneys stated in the filing.
In a letter to the judge obtained by ABC News, prosecutors denied the claim.
"The Government was not in possession of the video before its publication by CNN," prosecutors wrote. "Indeed, at the time of CNN's publication, the Government did not possess any video of the March 2016 incident."
