Savannah Chrisley Reveals Julie Sent Her a Card on Mother's Day as She Cares for Siblings amid Parents' Prison Sentences.
Savannah Chrisley is sharing a heartfelt story about her mother Julie’s thoughtful gesture from prison.
In a recent episode of her Unlocked podcast, where she visited an Arizona prison to connect with incarcerated women, Savannah, 27, revealed that Julie sent her a special card for Mother's Day as a thank you for taking care of her siblings, Grayson, 18, and Chloe, 11, while she and her husband Todd Chrisley serve their sentences.

“Every Mother's Day, she sends me a card because I'm looking after the kids,” Savannah explained. “And when birthdays come around, she sends little crochet items. It’s those small things that the little ones really cherish,” she added. Savannah emphasized that her mom is always there for her, even on tough days, saying, “She calls me, and it’s all about not giving up. That’s what it’s really about—never giving up.” She continued, “[She keeps calling] … we chat about everyday things, like if I’m having a disagreement with my boyfriend, and she makes it feel normal, not about prison.”
Todd, 55, and Julie, 51, were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022. Todd received a 12-year prison sentence and 16 months of probation, while Julie was sentenced to seven years and 16 months of probation in November 2022. They began appealing their convictions a month before starting their sentences in January 2023, and their sentences were reduced by nearly two years in September 2023.
In an April 2024 appeal hearing, a judge granted Julie's appeal, vacating her seven-year sentence in June due to lack of evidence, while Todd's sentence remained unchanged. However, in September, Julie was resentenced to the same 84 months she had originally received. During the hearing at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta, Julie addressed Judge Eleanor L. Ross and expressed remorse for her actions, with Savannah and her brother Chase Chrisley present.

In a recent episode of her podcast Unlocked, Savannah shared her family's experiences celebrating Mother's Day, highlighting a heartfelt card she received from Chloe. "Mother's Day was a bit strange for me. I can't quite put my finger on it; it was tough, but also just felt off," Chrisley reflected. "Chloe and Grayson are truly amazing kids. They are the sweetest, and they make everything so much easier." "Chloe wrote me a letter for Mother's Day that said, 'Happy Mother's Day to Savannah. I know you didn't expect me and Grayson to be in your life, but you're doing an incredible job with us. Keep it up. Love, Chloe.'"
"Honestly, when I read it, I just started crying because it was so touching. She's only 11 and has faced some tough challenges," she continued. Chrisley noted that Chloe is making the most of her situation, and the letter prompted her to have a significant realization. "It really hit me that I'm doing a good job with these kids, helping them feel what they need to feel and just being there for them," Chrisley reflected.
In the face of immense challenges, Savannah Chrisley’s resilience and dedication to her family shine through. Despite her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, serving prison sentences, Savannah has taken on the role of caregiver for her younger siblings, Grayson and Chloe. Julie’s thoughtful gestures, like sending a Mother's Day card and handmade crochet gifts, offer both emotional support and a reminder of the strong family bond they share. Savannah's openness about these moments reflects her strength and love for her family, demonstrating that, even in difficult circumstances, the Chrisley family continues to find ways to uplift and support one another.
