All-Star Sale: Jose Canseco Auctions Prized Items After Losing $40M Fortune.
Baseball icon Jose Canseco is actively seeking funds for a new business venture by selling memorabilia on Facebook. The listings from the MLB star were found on the Las Vegas Facebook marketplace, showcasing a variety of personal items, including a signed poker table. This unique table is priced at an impressive $25,000, along with some ostrich leather boots and flashy wheel rims also up for grabs.
"Absolutely stunning Jose Canseco custom signature poker table," declares the product description. "One of a kind in new like condition."
The World Series champion and six-time All-Star shared that he is initiating the sale to secure funding for his new project, PX40/40. He says the batting aid will "revolutionize the art of power-hitting and swinging, not just in baseball and softball but also on the golf course."
"It's the future of power hitting," claims the product's website.
The size 13 Ostrich boots are referred to as "incredibly amazing," just like a 2021 custom-built Triumph Rocket motorcycle that has only 500 miles on it. This motorcycle is priced at $17,000, and you can also find 24-inch Rolls Royce wheels and tires for $4,500. Canseco made more than $40 million during his 17-year career in baseball.
The former slugger, who found himself at the center of the MLB steroid scandal in the 1990s, squandered his earnings and declared bankruptcy in 2012. In 2019, he launched a car wash in Las Vegas, but just four years later, the struggling business was put back on the market.
The Yelp listing for the car wash indicates that it is "closed temporarily." Meanwhile, the 60-year-old is primarily focused on promoting his new batting aid. Canseco's challenges have been well-documented over the years. His daughter, Josie, 28, addressed rumors about their family's financial situation in an Instagram post last March, pushing back against assumptions tied to her well-known last name.
"To everyone saying I come from 'rich money' because I'm a 'Canseco,' do your research," she wrote on Instagram two years ago.
"My family's money was gone by the time I was 6 or 7 due to bankruptcy. I’ve had to work hard not only to maintain my family name but also to pay my bills—because no one else did that for me."
Canseco, known for his time with the Oakland A's and New York Yankees, has had his share of legal issues, including a 1998 incident where he was arrested for domestic battery against Josie's mother, Jessica. He entered a no contest plea and was sentenced to a year of probation as part of a plea agreement. Jose and Jessica, who worked as a cosmetic tattoo artist, were married for just three years.

Their marriage ended in divorce in 1999 amid accusations of infidelity and domestic violence. In 2008, his home in Encino, California, faced foreclosure, and later that same year, he received a 12-month probation sentence for a drug-related offense. During an appearance on Inside Edition to talk about his financial struggles, he revealed that his two divorces contributed significantly to his financial woes, estimating the total cost to be between $7 and $8 million. Josie mentioned that she felt pressured to project an image of wealth to keep up appearances.
"I love my dad and am proud of where I come from," the model and reality TV star told the New York Post in 2018.
"Growing up, there was a lot of pressure to meet certain expectations and appear as though we had money. It was like living in a façade. "I didn’t want people to know about the struggles, like the bankruptcy or when he was arrested, because those were things out of my control."
