Tim Tebow and Wife Demi-Leigh Celebrate Baby No. 1: ‘Over the Moon’
Tim Tebow and his wife, Demi-Leigh Tebow, have shared the wonderful news that they are expanding their family and are expecting their first child together. “Baby Tebow,” the couple wrote in an Instagram Reel on Tuesday, January 14, to announce the pregnancy. The touching video features the couple dressed in matching white outfits, with the former Miss Universe, 29, proudly showcasing her baby bump as they walk through a beautiful field. The video concluded with the message, “Arriving this summer.” In an interview with People released on the same day, the former professional athlete, 37, and the South African model expressed their excitement about becoming first-time parents.

“We are just so excited and so over the moon to be having a baby together,” Demi-Leigh, who’s now 16 weeks pregnant, told the outlet. Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos alum said he was “honored for the privilege of getting the responsibility and the joy of being mom and dad.”
Demi described her husband of five years as “extremely gracious,” which is why she believed he would make “such a great dad.”
“Tim is one of the most thoughtful people. He is literally one of the best gift-givers I have ever met,” she said about the athlete. “I just think that he’s one of the wisest people I have met — and I know that’s a bold statement to make, but I truly believe it. Just in the way that he approaches every single day.”
The quarterback mentioned that his wife “is going to be a fierce defender and protector.”
He explained, “She will be extremely loyal and loving. Demi is someone that is extremely determined. When she sets her mind to something, she goes all the way in — and I know that she will do that as a mom, too.” In addition, he said his wife’s pregnancy has completely changed his mindset on his outlook on life.
“It’s just amazing how it also reprioritizes and changes what you put an emphasis on and what you value most,” Tim continued. “News like that just supersedes the level of importance and the level of joy that you have. It’s just so cool.”
Tim and Demi-Leigh first crossed paths in 2018 during the Tim Tebow Foundation's yearly event, Night to Shine, a special prom designed for individuals with unique needs.

“Demi had a little sister with severe special needs. [She] was kind of our matchmaker,” Tim toldUs Weekly in August 2024 of his wife’s late sister Franje, who had cerebellar agenesis and died in May 2019. “Demi and her family were invited [to Night of Shine], but unfortunately her sister was too sick to go. But through that, we connected and never stopped talking.”
The couple quickly sensed a deep bond, but the pageant queen admitted that they faced a “language barrier” at the beginning of their relationship.

“Loving in a second language is different,” Demi-Leigh explained, asking the former football star, “Remember the first time after our first date, I told you, ‘Keep well,’ and you thought I was dismissing you?”
Tim reminisced about the early days of their relationship, mentioning, “Her first language is Afrikaans, not English,” as Demi-Leigh hails from South Africa. The couple tied the knot in January 2020, following a year-long engagement. Tim and Demi-Leigh are looking forward to celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary on January 20.
