Scott Peterson Speaks for the First Time in Decades: See Footage.

Scott Peterson, the man whose name became synonymous with one of the most notorious murder cases of the early 2000s, is breaking his silence after more than two decades. In a new three-part docuseries, Face to Face with Scott Peterson, Peterson will give his first on-camera comments since his conviction for the murder of his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son, Conner.

As detailed in a press release for the upcoming series, "It was a case that captivated the country. At eight months pregnant, Laci Peterson went missing on Christmas Eve, 2002. As the investigation unfolded, her husband, Scott, was revealed to be a liar, a cheater, and ultimately a murderer. The world’s media hung on every moment of the trial, and Scott was convicted and sentenced to death. Case closed. Or is it?"

While many still believe the jury’s verdict was correct, Scott’s family, along with experts close to the case, have spent over two decades pursuing new information. They are determined to uncover inconsistencies in the evidence and explore alternative theories surrounding Laci’s death, according to the release.

The docuseries' teaser trailer, which you can view above, shows Director Shareen Anderson asking Scott Peterson, via video chat, why anyone should care about his side of the story today. The full answer is promised in the series premiere on August 20.

What is Face to Face with Scott Peterson?

Face to Face with Scott Peterson offers a fresh perspective on the infamous case, approaching the 20th anniversary of Peterson’s conviction. The three-part docuseries, which premieres exclusively on Peacock on August 20, will delve into the details of the murders of Laci and Conner Peterson. It will also explore the recent developments in the case, particularly after the Los Angeles Innocence Project announced in early 2024 that they would take on Scott's case.

For the first time since 2003, Scott Peterson will participate in an on-camera interview, sharing his thoughts and insights into the case that continues to fascinate and divide the public.

Who will feature in Face to Face with Scott Peterson?

The series includes a series of exclusive, intimate conversations between Director Shareen Anderson (executive producer of The Murder of Laci Peterson) and Scott Peterson. It will also feature interviews with key figures involved in the case, including his sister-in-law Janey Peterson, former Modesto Police Department lead detective Al Brocchini, detective Jon Buehler, Peterson’s former defence attorney Lara Yeretsian, and former ABC News producer Mike Gudgell, among others.

Where can I stream Face to Face with Scott Peterson?

All three hour-long episodes of Face to Face with Scott Peterson will drop on Peacock on August 20, available exclusively on the platform for streaming.

The docuseries is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studios, directed by Shareen Anderson and Po Kutchins, with executive producers Liz Yale Marsh, Shareen Anderson, Po Kutchins, and Tim Clancy.
