Christy Carlson Romano Hospitalized After Being Shot in the Eye.

Christy Carlson Romano, the actress known for her role in Even Stevens, is recovering after a terrifying incident on February 7. Romano was shot multiple times in the face while celebrating her husband Brendan Rooney’s 42nd birthday in Austin, Texas.

Romano shared the shocking details of the incident on Instagram, explaining that the couple was out for a clay pigeon shooting trip when things took a dangerous turn. “I took him to shoot clay pigeons as a present,” Romano, 40, wrote alongside a video showing her injuries. “There was another party with us and they unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face."

In the post, Romano described the injuries she sustained, revealing that she was hit in five places, with one shot narrowly missing her right eye by less than an inch. Unfortunately, a fragment became lodged behind her eye, and doctors have deemed it too risky to remove surgically at this time. "I can see normally at the moment," Romano confirmed, but she expressed gratitude for being alive. "I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much. I saw my life flash before my eyes," she said. "Life can change in an instant."

Romano’s husband, Brendan Rooney, immediately sprang into action after the shooting, rushing her to the hospital. In the video, Romano expressed her gratitude for the quick response of medical staff and first responders, calling them “superhero-like people" who took care of her when she needed them most.

"Everything's kinda clearing out," Romano added, reflecting on her recovery, “but I got to say I got shot in the face and lived to tell the tale. Be grateful for every day."

Rooney, who has been married to Romano for over 11 years, shared an emotional message of support on Instagram. "You are the bravest, toughest, most stoic and badass woman I have ever met," he wrote in a comment on Romano's post. "I am so thankful you are alive. I am so thankful you are the mother to our children. I wouldn’t know what to do without you. I love you more than life itself."

Romano, known for her roles in Kim Possible and Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, kept a positive attitude throughout the ordeal. In a humorous moment, she joked in response to her husband’s message, saying, “God saved me so I could tell you to clean up your empty cans around the house.”

Rooney also shared Romano’s video on his Instagram Stories, urging followers to “Kiss your loved ones” as a reminder of how quickly life can change.

Despite the severity of the incident, Romano’s focus remains on her recovery and her family. As she continues to heal, she encourages others to appreciate every moment, stressing the importance of cherishing loved ones.

Romano and Rooney share two daughters, Isabella Victoria, 8, and Sophia Elizabeth, 5. The couple has been married for more than a decade, and the shooting incident has only deepened their bond. Romano’s strength and resilience in the face of adversity has left fans and loved ones in awe.
