Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil’s Plane Involved in Fatal Crash at Scottsdale Airport.

A tragic accident occurred at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday afternoon when a Learjet 35A, registered to Vince Neil, 64, the lead singer of Mötley Crüe, collided with a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet after landing. The accident resulted in the loss of one life, and four others sustained injuries, two of which were reported as critical.

Incident Details

According to Capt. Dave Folio of the Scottsdale Fire Department, the Learjet was arriving from Austin, Texas, when it veered off the runway and struck the stationary Gulfstream jet. Kelli Kuester, a spokesperson for Scottsdale Airport, confirmed that the accident occurred due to a failure in the left main gear of the Learjet upon landing.

The jet involved in the accident is owned by Vince Neil through a company called Chromed in Hollywood, Inc., based in Wyoming. However, Neil was not on board during the flight. His attorney, Worrick Robinson, issued a statement confirming this, saying: "At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport. For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil's plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane."

Casualties and Response

The crash resulted in one fatality, and four other people were injured. Two of the injured were in critical condition. The Scottsdale Fire Department responded promptly, with multiple trucks deployed to the scene. First responders had to rescue one individual who was trapped inside one of the aircraft.

The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m., causing the runway to be closed for a period. The Gulfstream jet involved in the accident had been stationed at the airport since January 31, as confirmed by flight records.

Reactions and Statements

Allen Kovac, the manager of Mötley Crüe, confirmed that Vince Neil was not aboard the aircraft during the accident. The rock star’s girlfriend, Rain, and a friend of hers were on the plane, both of whom were taken to the hospital after the crash.

Neil expressed his thoughts and prayers for everyone involved, stating: “Mr. Neil's thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the specific reasons behind the mechanical failure that led to the plane veering off the runway.
