Britney Spears' BF Paul Soliz’s Shocking Restraining Order War with Ex-Mother-in-Law Revealed.
Britney Spears' on-again, off-again boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz Jr., is entangled in a legal battle with his ex-mother-in-law, Sandra Smith. The 38-year-old filed a petition for a domestic violence restraining order against Sandra, the mother of his estranged wife, Nicole Mancilla, on September 12, 2024. According to documents, Paul is seeking a court order requiring Sandra to stay at least 100 yards away from him.
Paul alleges that the most recent incident of abuse occurred on September 9, 2024, following a visit with their mother. He claims that his sons, Trystan and Dylan, ran outside as soon as they heard his car approaching and informed him that Sandra was refusing to let his daughter, Violet, leave with him. Paul recounted the situation, saying, "She then yelled through the door, ‘She is my daughter’s baby not yours!’ I banged on the door demanding for her [to] give me my daughter, as I heard Violet screaming and crying through the door." Paul tried to console his daughter from the outside, but Sandra allegedly refused to open the door.
As tensions escalated, Paul stated that he called the LAPD for assistance. However, he ended up leaving the scene to avoid further conflict, taking his boys home as it was a school night. He expressed concern about subjecting them to more yelling and threats, claiming that Sandra had threatened to lie to the police and have him arrested.
In his petition, Paul also accused Sandra of causing him emotional harm and humiliation, citing a public interview she gave to Daily Mail, where she allegedly blamed him for her daughter’s mental health decline. He added, “She has told me that I will only love her daughter when she is dead.” Paul also claimed Sandra called him a "deadbeat dad" in June 2024, further damaging his reputation.
The filing continued with Paul expressing regret for allowing Sandra unsupervised visits with the children, stating, "She used Nicole to gain access to the children, then tossed the boys outside making them feel unwanted and unloved." Paul described Sandra as "manipulative" and "toxic."
In response, Sandra fired back at Paul’s accusations. She claimed she was in fear for her life after Paul allegedly tried to break down her door on September 9, 2024. "I did call 911... He was trying to break my door down. LAPD did show up," she stated. Sandra claimed that her grandchildren had always lived with her until Paul took them on August 14, 2024. She also accused Paul of never paying child support and being verbally abusive in the past. Sandra expressed concerns about Paul's ability to care for the boys, stating, “I was always in fear when he would take the boys he would leave them in a strange person, so he go to his girlfriend’s house.”

A hearing was held on October 7, 2024, where both Paul and Sandra appeared in court to testify. Paul had requested that the case be sealed, but this was denied. Additionally, his request for a permanent restraining order was rejected. The court found that Paul failed to meet the necessary burden of proof, and the request was denied. "The Court finds the party requesting the order of protection did not sustain the applicable burden of proof and accordingly the request is denied. Any temporary restraining order earlier issued is hereby dissolved," the court order stated.
Nicole has faced difficulty serving Paul with divorce papers and even attempted to serve him at Britney Spears’ home. Meanwhile, TMZ reported that Britney and Paul were seen together on February 4, 2025, with the pop star accompanied by Paul and two of his children.
