The hit Netflix series The Night Agent has fans eagerly awaiting its next season. While an exact release date for Season 3 has yet to be confirmed, it’s anticipated to debut in 2026. Netflix began preparing for this new season before the launch of Season 2, having already set up the writers' room, and production is slated to take place in Istanbul by the end of 2024, with filming set to begin in New York on February 3, 2025.
Producer Shawn Ryan provided updates on the production timeline, stating, “We’re still writing the last couple of episodes, we’ll have them done before we start shooting the New York portion of our filming, which begins February 3.” This confirms that the show’s writers are hard at work to bring viewers a thrilling new chapter in the The Night Agent saga.
Returning Cast and New Faces
The show’s lead, Gabriel Basso, will reprise his role as Peter Sutherland, the main character. Amanda Warren, who became a series regular in Season 2 as Catherine Weaver, will also return as Peter's Night Action supervisor.

Season 3 will see some changes in the cast, with Ward Horton and Albert Jones, introduced in Season 2, becoming series regulars. Horton plays Governor Richard Hagan, a man on the brink of becoming the next U.S. President, while Jones portrays Deputy Director Aiden Mosely.
High-Profile New Cast Members
The third season will also feature David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, and Stephen Moyer as new series regulars. Lyons will portray a former spy called back into action, while Morrison will take on the role of First Lady, and Moyer will portray a leading hitman. Additionally, Genesis Rodriguez, known for her role in Lioness, has joined the cast, and Callum Vinson, from Chucky, will also feature prominently. As for Rose Larkin, played by Luciane Buchanan, the show’s creator hinted at her potential return, suggesting that she may experience a storyline similar to Chelsea's. “What I will say is that I don’t view this the way that I guess a lot of TV shows operate in that I think characters come and go and then come back to the show, depending on what the storyline for that season is,” Shawn Ryan said in a recent interview.

Season 2 fans were captivated by the relationship between Peter and Rose, as the two characters navigated intense situations together. Gabriel Basso shared his thoughts on the chemistry between the two, explaining that “you can have love for someone without physically expressing it.” He further noted that “sacrificing your life for someone or putting your life at risk to save someone, I think, is a bigger testament of love than giving them a kiss.”
