Savannah Guthrie Celebrates Mostly What God Does is Love You Bestseller with Drew Barrymore.
Savannah Guthrie has plenty to celebrate as her new children’s book, Mostly What God Does is Love You, reaches No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list, selling over 20,000 copies. The next day, she and her close friend Drew Barrymore took part in a celebratory tattoo session, marking a special bond.
A Meaningful Tattoo Celebration
Celebrity tattoo artist JonBoy inked both Guthrie and Barrymore, creating lasting memories. Guthrie chose to have hearts drawn by her children, Vale and Charley, permanently etched on her wrist. Barrymore opted for the word "time" tattooed on her wrist, symbolizing a personal connection. This marks their second tattoo session together, after first getting tattoos in 2023.

A Personal Connection to Guthrie’s First Tattoo
The bond between Guthrie and Barrymore goes beyond just tattoos. In a previous episode of Today, Guthrie revealed the story behind her first-ever tattoo, which is based on a note from her late father, who passed away when she was 16. The message, written in her father’s handwriting, reads as a love letter to her mother—a piece of her father's memory that Guthrie cherishes.
“I’ve never wanted a tattoo before,” Guthrie shared. “But when I saw my father’s handwriting, I knew it was something I wanted to carry with me forever.”

Spiritual Reflections and Sharing Love
Guthrie’s book Mostly What God Does is Love You shares an uplifting message of love and kindness, reminding children of how cherished they are. In a heartfelt moment during an interview with her daughter Vale, Guthrie opened up about the importance of prayer.
She explained how, as a child, she prayed for things like good grades and holiday gifts, but as she grew, her prayers became a way to express her fears and worries.
“Even in times where I felt alone,” Guthrie said, “I could always call God. I hope my children will carry that same connection with them through their lives.”
