Nick Cannon Declares He’s “Not Done” Having Kids After Fathering 12 Children: “Leave It to the Lord”
Nick Cannon is once again making headlines with his bold stance on fatherhood, revealing that he has no plans to stop having children. Despite already fathering 12 children with six different women, the TV host and entrepreneur says his parenting journey is far from over.
During a March 17, 2025, episode of his podcast We Playin’ Spades, Cannon opened up about his future plans, sharing his belief that the decision of whether to have more kids is in the hands of fate, or as he puts it, “the Lord.”
Cannon’s Response to Vasectomy Suggestions
The conversation started when guests Ryan Clark and Channing Crowder, both of whom have had vasectomies, suggested that Cannon might want to follow suit. Crowder, 41, jokingly turned to Cannon, teasing him about the possibility of getting a vasectomy, especially considering his history of fathering numerous children.
Cannon, who has previously made light of his large family, responded with humor, saying, “Feel like this is an intervention.” Despite the playful jab, Cannon admitted that getting a vasectomy would be “the responsible thing to do,” yet insisted that he’s “not done” having children.

“Leave It to the Lord”: Cannon’s Family Plans
When asked by host Courtney Bee whether he wanted to have more children with one of his current partners or find someone new, Cannon didn’t give a definitive answer. Instead, he stated, “I leave it to the Lord.” This statement reflects his unique approach to fatherhood, indicating that he doesn’t have a specific plan for growing his family and is letting fate take the lead. Cannon’s comments have raised eyebrows and sparked conversations about his future and the possibility of him continuing to expand his already sizable family.
A Bet Leads to a Vasectomy Consultation
In a playful moment during the podcast, Cannon made a bet with his guests: if they won the card game, he would schedule a consultation for a vasectomy. After losing the game, Cannon jokingly asked, “What’s the doctor’s name?” while laughing off the idea of undergoing the procedure. This light-hearted banter highlighted Cannon’s easygoing attitude toward the topic, despite the serious nature of the discussion about his expanding family.
Nick Cannon’s Growing Family
Cannon’s large and ever-growing family has long been a topic of public interest. He first became a father in 2011, when he and his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe. Following their divorce in 2014, Cannon continued to grow his family, fathering 10 more children with five other women. His children include sons Golden (8) and Rise (2) and daughter Powerful Queen (4) with Brittany Bell, twins Zillion and Zion (3) and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin (2) with Abby De La Rosa, son Legendary (2) with Bre Tiesi, and daughter Onyx (2) with LaNisha Cole.
In addition, Cannon tragically lost his son Zen to a brain tumor at the age of five months, but later welcomed a daughter, Halo, now 2, with Alyssa Scott. Despite the challenges of balancing such a large family, Cannon has expressed gratitude for the mothers of his children, who help him manage his time and responsibilities.
