The term is for three years, effective from 1 January 2020. Alex, a Tax partner, joined Baker McKenzie as a trainee in 1990 and made partner in 1999. He headed the Firm's Tax Practice Group in London and was on Baker McKenzie's Europe Tax Transactions Steering Committee, before being appointed London Managing Partner in September 2016. Over the past three years under Alex's leadership as Managing Partner, the London Office has seen a period of significant growth, with highlights including 40% increase in London revenues, 26 Partner-level hires and 18 Partner promotions. The London office has continued working on some of the biggest and high profile mandates and has advised clients through challenging and unchartered waters. Commenting on his re-appointment Alex Chadwick said: "I am very honoured to be elected Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in London once more. The firm also advises clients on some of the largest and most complex transactions and legal matters in the European and global market, in particular, complex cross-border transactions. Baker McKenzie Re-appoints Alex Chadwick as London Office Managing Partner International law firm Ashurst continues Luxembourg office growth with the appointment of Fabien Debroise as a partner in its banking team. Fabien joins from Ogier, where he has worked for over seven years and most recently was the co-managing partner of their Luxembourg office. He joined Ogier in 2012 from Bonn Steichen & Partners and was promoted to Partner and Head of Banking in 2014. A technical and experienced banking lawyer, Fabien specialises in acquisition and funds finance, real estate finance, loans and bond issuance, as well as more general regulatory and insolvency/ restructuring matters. Commenting on the appointment, Isabelle Lentz, Managing Partner of Luxembourg, said: "We are seeing a very high volume of banking and finance transactions with Luxembourg involvement, and Fabien's expertise of the core Luxembourg banking and finance business together with his deep knowledge of insolvency matters, will be a valuable addition to our team.
