LAWYER MOVES Mishcon de Reya announced the appointment of Henry Winter as a partner operating from its Singapore office, further expanding the firm’s capacity for international dispute resolution. Winter becomes the fourth partner to be based in the firm's Singapore office, which has grown to 14 lawyers since opening in 2020. Winter specialises in cross-border dispute resolution, including international commercial and investor-state arbitration, litigation, and investigations. He also has a wealth of experience liaising with regulators throughout the Asia Pacific region. Among his extensive experiences, he has often advised multinational corporates, foreign investors, and governments in complex litigation and arbitrations under the SIAC, ICC, UNCITRAL and ICSID rules. His sector focus includes international trade, renewable and conventional energy, resources, financial services, fraud, infrastructure and construction. Winter’s previous roles include senior legal counsel for dispute resolution at QBE Insurance Group and senior associate at Hogan Lovells. Winter is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has been ranked a "Rising Star” by Legal 500 and a "Future Leader" by Who's Who Legal. Mishcon de Reya Gains Dispute Resolution Partner in Singapore office Matheson, the largest law firm in Ireland, has hired four senior technology, data and regulatory lawyers to its Dublin and London offices. Joining the firm’s technology and innovation group are partners Davinia Brennan and Rory O’Keeffe, former partners at A&L Goodbody and Accenture respectively. Meanwhile, partner Caroline Kearns and consultant Niamh Mullholland join the firm’s financial institutionsgroup from DLA Piper and KPMG Ireland. Brennan, Kearns and Mullholland will be based in the firm’s Dublin headquarters, while O'Keeffe will be based in London. Michael Jackson, senior partner at Matheson, said the appointments would help the firm to maintain pace with rapid transformational change taking place across the IT, data privacy and regulatory sectors. He also stated that the firm was anticipating the new hires’ contributions to its pro bono programme. Earlier this year, Mathesons’ director of legal and regulatory affairs, Niahm Counihan, was appointed the firm’s first dedicated pro bono partner, a first for the Irish legal market. The new appointments serve to underscore Matheson’s commitment to gender equality within its senior ranks, the firm said. Roughly 41% of the firm’s partnership is composed of female lawyers, while over 50% of its partner appointments over the past three years have been women.
