Argea is a holding company that acts as an umbrella for the Botter-Mondodelvino wine brand and is directed by the Clessidra Fund. The company boasts annual turnover of €420 million, and its acquisition of Cantina Zaccagnini together with its Montepulciano d’Abruzzo brand and other assets is estimated to be worth €70 million. The deal grants Argea ownership of Cantina Zaccagnini’s Corropoli and Bolognano wineries, as well as its logistics and processing plants, corporate luxury resort and other assets. A 20% stake and 60 hectares of vineyards remain owned by the Abruzzi family, according to founder Marcello Zaccagnini, who will invest in the Argea project and remain an ambassador for the brand. The acquisition will accelerate Argea’s development roadmap and enhance its reach through Cantina Zaccagnini’s brands, which are known across 45 countries including the US, Norway and Sweden. Cantina Zaccagnini will also benefit from Argea’s international commercial network, connecting it with overseas markets. The Bozza & Associates team was led by managing partner Ermando Bozza.
